• 2014 – 2015 : University of Texas at Austin, Graduate School Bess Heflin Fellowship ($26,000 stipend + Medical Insurance + Tuition Waiver = Approximately $47,000);

• 2014 : Maxwell McCombs Graduate Student Award for Research Publishing;

• 2013 – 2014 : University of Texas at Austin, School of Journalism’s Continuing Fellowship ($10,000 + Tuition Waiver = Approximately $20,000);

• 2013: Top Faculty Paper Award, Political Communication Interest Group, Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication annual conference, Washington DC;

• 2012: University of Texas at Austin, Nettie Doscher More Fellowship in Journalism;

• 2011: University of Kansas, Honors for Master’s Thesis;

• 2011: University of Kansas, Calder Pickett Award for Outstanding Graduate Student;

• 2009-2011: William J. Fulbright Scholarship.
